Hi, it’s me, your pal the ADOT Highway Hawk. I look out for safety, and that includes keeping highways and roads clean.

Did you know April is National Garden month? April is also Keep America Beautiful Month and April is the month we celebrate Earth Day. The very first Earth Day was held 40 years ago this spring on April 22. 1970. Today there are lots of ways to protect our environment and lots of ways for you to help.

This April I will use less water because I’ll take a shower instead of a bath.

I’ll reduce, reuse or recycle plastic bags and I’ll take my old computer to a recycling center in order to keep hazardous substances out of the landfill.

What are you doing for Earth Day in your neighborhood or school?

I Don’t Trash the Earth and I Don’t Trash Arizona either. Look for more ways to celebrate our earth at www.epa.gov
