Dear Boomer,
I’m getting picked on at school, and I’ve told the teacher about it. But the problem is only a few of the people who picked on me stopped. Yesterday someone called me a bad name that I can’t repeat here, and people are saying that all the boys I hang out with are my boyfriends. I need to know what to do.
Sincerely, B.H.
Hey, B.H.!
Bullying is a serious problem for a lot of kids. I’m glad you reported it to your teacher. But since things still aren’t the way they should be, maybe you should visit your school counselor and explain everything. By law, the school needs to take care of this situation.
Keep your cool, Boomer Bear
Boomer,
I like this person, but he likes my best friend. Can you help me?
Yours truly, D.B.
Dear D.B.,
Situations like this can really mess up a friendship. You might want to step back and let things take their natural course, unless your friend isn’t interested in him
at all.
Best of luck,
Boomer Bear
Boomer Bear,
I want to share with you and your friends something that I learned—Jupiter has 63 moons. I also know all the planets in our solar system—Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
Your friend, Z.K.
Dear Z.K.,
That’s outta this world!

Dear Boomer,
My mom said that if I get all A’s on my report card, I can get texting on my cell. But I have one B+.
What should I do?
Your friend, G.B.
Dear G.B.
First of all, congrats for pulling such great grades! I always tell my fellow students to do their best when it comes to school. Some of my classmates are in it just for the grade, which can get ugly at times.
But if you really want to try to turn your B+ into an A, ask your teacher if there’s some extra credit that you can do.
Do Your Best! Boomer Bear
Dear Boomer,
I’m one of your reporters. Some classmates and I wrote a report for your newspaper. I told my principal, and she says she can’t wait!
Thanks so much, C.P.
Way to write, C.P. and company!
Writing with others can be quite a challenge. Our reporters also get to go on TV with KVOA-4.
Thanks,
Boomer Bear

Dear Boomer Bear,
I was trying to find the umbrella on the April 2010 cover, but I could only find it on the online version. I think that Boomer Bear is a little too far to the left and he covers up the umbrella on my Phoenix newspaper.
Sincerely, Boo77
You’re right, Boo77!
When I posed for my April cover in Phoenix, I was too far over and covered up the umbrella. My apologies to the kids, teachers and families in the Valley! Thanks for using Bear online.

Dear Boomer Bear,
There are a lot of things I do to conserve energy. For example, I turn off the sink when I brush my teeth and take shorter showers! I like your newspapers, and I’d love to be a writer, but I hafta think about which idea to write about!!!
Sincerely, E.M.
Hey, E.M.,
Thanks for doing what you can to help the environment. Didja help celebrate Earth Day on April 22? There are all sorts of ways kids like you can help the planet, and saving water is one of the most important things you can do since we live in a desert. To learn more about saving water, see Water Wise with CAP on page 9.
