Wild Animal Facts 4 KIDS:

Python Facts

PythonPythons are large constrictors (snakes that squeeze their prey) and tend to live near the equator in Africa and Asia. In the wild, pythons feed on rodents, lizards, caiman, antelope and even monkeys. But these slithering super snakes unfortunately have gotten used to living near humans, and may feed on goats, chickens and pigs.

Exciting New Dragon World—Now Open! Recently, Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium unveiled its newest animal attraction: Dragon World. These exhibits bring several living “dragons” to the West Valley including the state’s fi rst saltwater crocodile—a 10-foot giant nicknamed “Jaws.”

Reptile Xword
This exciting new display of animal exhibits features giant ectotherms. Like all reptiles, including Jaws, these creatures must use the environment to control and maintain their body temperatures. Dragon World features large acrylic panels including some with underwater viewing to provide visitors with an up-close look at these amazing animals.

Alligator vs Crocodile Of course, no reptile exhibit would be complete without a giant snake. Dragon World features a man-sized, 200-pound, 20-foot-long and still growing reticulated python. This constrictor is not only the longest species of snake—it’s the longest reptile in the world. Some reticulated pythons have reached more than 26 feeet in length! Rounding out Wildlife World Zoo’s list of dragons will be giant Aldabra tortoises, spectacled caiman, African dwarf crocodiles, plus a variety of smaller lizards, and several species of monitor and iguana lizards!

Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium, in Litchfield Park, is open seven days a week, 365 days a year.
