Dear Boomer,
I'm not that happy that school ended, but you have to move on. Luckily I passed my grade! Since summer started, I've been reading your news for camps and sports and stuff like that. I was wondering if you could give some ideas, locations to play softball?
Your Sporty Friend, D.C.

Dear Boomer,
I think it would be cool if I could interview you for my article, but between school and other things, I don't have time. Do you think I could do the interview online?

Thank you very much, H.B.! I have all sorts of topics you can comment on. It's fun with friends, too!

Hi T.P.!
Out of Africa Wildlife Park is a fascinating place to learn about lions, tigers, bears and all sorts of other animals. My May 2013 issue focuses on the importance of learning about the animals we share the planet with.

Dear Boomer,
I have wondered do you like the Out of Africa Wildlife Park?

Thank you, T.P.

Excellent questions, C.D.!
As I sit hear contemplating your questions, I'm quite sure that I'm real. I love books and am enjoying "Ghost of Spirit Bear," by Ben Mikaelsen. Now's a great time to join my Young Reporters Program so you're ready to write stories about your summer adventures! Click on Young Reporters on the left to get to the Sign-Up Form. Fill it out, have mom or dad sign the bottom and mail it in. We'll get you all the info you need to get started. Young Reporter wannabees in Tucson need to bring their form to Young Reporter Night at Peter Piper Pizza, one of the sponsors of the Tucson program. We hold it every Third Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. (Call 792-9930 for the PPP location.) You'll get your official reporters kit, pizza, a kids drink and great reporting tips!

You've got the "write" stuff! Boomer Bear

Hi Boomer Bear!
I'm in fourth grade, and my teacher lets us read your newspaper and answer questions. I really want to be a Young Reporter, and I have a question: what's your favorite book? Mine is "When You Reach Me" by Rebecca Stead. And are you real? Because I think you are a really smart polar bear.

I want to report, C.D.

Dear W.M.,
A trip to Disneyland sure will motivate you to finish out the school year strong! I hear there's a half basketball court way up high inside the Matterhorn. Please ask about it when you go behind the scenes. There are a few amusement parks around here that you and your classmates would enjoy. Places like Golf N' Stuff, Children's Museum, Funtasticks and the Mini-Time Machine Museum of Miniatures are so much fun.

Say "aye" to the Pirates for me!

Hey, Boomer!
At the end of the school year our whole sixth grade is going to Disneyland, and we have the opportunity to go behind the scenes to learn cool stuff! Do you know any fun amusement parks in Tucson?

Dear O.C.,
I'd like to say my favorite color is clear--like clear skies, the clear blue ocean, clear thinking, clearly the best newspaper for kids, classrooms and families in the whole wide world. But my favorite color is really blue, and Iron Man is currently my favorite superhero!

Take care, Boomer Bear

Before I tell you my thoughts, I'll introduce myself. I'm 12, I attend La Paloma Academy Lakeside. My favorite book is The Last Apprentice series; my favorite movie is "Resident Evil." Now, what I really want to ask you is that don't you think kids age 12+ should get real jobs? Not only for cash, but to focus on their future. I think they should.

Thank you, R.N.

Dear L.T.,
Moving and starting a new school are never easy. The two places you spend most of your time at are so different from where you were. Really soon at school, talk with your counselor or your teacher about how you're feeling. They might have some great ideas that'll help ya!

Dear Boomer,
I moved last year around the summer, and I've been having really hard times. I try to get along, but it ain't easy. Sometimes I try to talk to my mom, but she listens to me and starts to laugh. A lot of times I go home and start to cry in my room. At home and at school I feel like trash. Boomer, what should I do?
Sincerely, L.T.

Dear D.W.,

Hi, L.J.!
With the holidays upon us, you might ask for some new fashionable items or maybe a gift card to a vintage clothing store. There are so many fun styles out there. Just look around at your school or when you're out and about to find a look that you really like for yourself and that works well for kids your age. As for the clothes, they don't hafta be expensive or new to make you look good!

See ya, Boomer Bear

Happy Boomer

Hey Boomer Bear!
How can I look good in school?

Thanks, L.J.

Hey, M.B.!
Sometimes it's not easy being the youngest of the bunch or different from the rest in some other way. Personally, I think it's our differences that make us interesting and special. Being a polar bear, I wear size 14 extra, extra, extra, extra wide shoes--the biggest ones at my school.

You're very special to me, Boomer Bear

Boomer in sun glasses

Dear Boomer,
I need your help! I'm in fifth grade; I'm 10, and I'm the shortest, youngest and have the smallest shoe size (in my class). Somebody asked me my shoe size. Then that person told her friend, and that girl made fun of me. I'm scared to tell anybody my shoe size--I'm scared they're going to tease me! What should I do?
P.S.--I LOVE your newspaper!

Thank you, M.B.

Hey, E.B.!
I know exactly what you mean. I get this great idea for my story and, like a good writer, jot down some words before I lose my inspiration. But sometimes when I review this work, it isn't as strong as I'd hoped. This is part of the editing process. Every writer's work needs spiffing up. It's a really, really good sign that you're critical of what you create--just don't let it discourage you. Good writing can take time and effort and redo's, too.

Say hi to your cats for me, Boomer Bear

Hi Boomer,

I have played with a baton before and ended up hitting myself in the head! It sounds like you've found a terrific athletic activity that you're gonna enjoy for years. For those who don't know, Kelly's Kuties is in Missouri.

Keep twirling! Boomer Bear

Confused Boomer

Boomer Bear,
Have you ever done baton twirling? It's unique, and it can definitely help with flexibility. When I started three years ago, I couldn't touch my toes. Now I'm doing features like splits, leaps and leg holds. It will help with posture because that helps you get points in competition. A lot of coaches stress over that. We aren't allowed to do gymnastics in competition, but we do lots of jumps, spins and illusions. I twirl fir Kelly's Kuties and I LOVE it. I practically live for twirling.

Try it! R.R.

Dear S.B.,
Good friends are hard to find. Unfortunately, sometimes you (or they) move away. It's only natural that you’re sad. On the bright side, it's easier than ever to stay in touch these days! As you know, I have my own blog, but lots of my far away friends still write me letters. I love getting hand-written letters from my buddies. Best yet, buying stamps and mailing stuff keeps the Post Office going! Of course there's also emailin', textin' and talkin' on the phone.

This is a serious problem, and I understand why you're upset. It sounds like your parents have made up their mind, so now you need to figure out a way to make the best of the situation. Hi, C.B.!
Believe it or not, there are many people who have similar feelings. I try not to get hung up on what I have or don't have or the latest fashion or smart phone that kids bring to school. I'm more into having good friends, spending time with my family, reading books and playing sports! If you're unhappy with things and can't figure out why, you may want to talk to mom or dad or your school counselor.

Wishing you a GREAT summer, Boomer

Dear P.T.,
Kids (and even adults) can be cruel with their teasing, and it can be more damaging than you think. It can really be a form of bullying! People need to treat each other with respect and understand that everyone has feelings. If things are getting out of hand, I'd tell your teacher about what's going on. You also might want to be nice and friendly to the person who's being made fun of.

Dear G.B.,
This kind of cyberbullying is terrible. Kids don't realize that once you put something out there, it can take on a life of its own and often can't be taken back. If it's really bad, this is something you need to report to your teacher or counselor so that the matter can be handled properly.

Dear C.B.,
Life can get really, really tough for families. During times like these, having friends who care can help. Your friend may have it rough these days, but she's fortunate to have a friend like you! Hopefully your friend's family is getting help from special organizations and/or governmental agencies. When it comes to your friend, just be yourself around her. Listen to her when she needs someone to listen, encourage her when she needs encouragement, support her when she needs support. A lot of times, just knowing you have a friend who's there for you can make a big difference!

Dear Anonymous,
If your buddy has done something bad, you might encourage that person to step up and take responsibility for it. It's a hard lesson to learn, but one that helps build a person's character. We all make mistakes and use bad judgment at times. How you turn something like this around is what matters.

Hi, T.S.
Being sick is no fun, and I don't like it either. I talked to a doctor friend of mine for a few tips. She says everyone needs to wash their hands frequently, especially as flu season nears. A lot of viruses and bacteria gets onto our hands (er, paws for me) from touching stuff. Eating a variety of fruits and veggies can help keep you healthy. She also says to get enough sleep every night. If you still are getting sick, especially if you're missing too much school, she says to schedule a check-up with your family doctor!

While you and your classmates are closing in on high school, you still have a whole school year to go. During that time, I think you should really focus on your schoolwork and pursue your personal interests, too. Getting into good study habits will help you stay on top of your homework and ready you for high school. Enjoy your final middle school year with your friends. I'm sure you'll be fine when you move up.

Happy School Year!!! Boomer Bear

Boomer Studying

Hey there, Boomer!
I saw letters of kids in your newspaper and want to see if you can help me with my worries. So I'm going into eighth grade this year, and that's not too far until high school. At first I was pretty happy but now am not too sure of the whole idea--what should I do?

Friends, Y.D.

Hey, J.J.!
I try to post what kids have to say within a couple days. For becoming a Young Reporter, we try to send the official reporters kit within a couple weeks. Young Reporters pick what they write about, and you should pick things you find interesting that other young readers might enjoy or ought to know. After mailing in your completed form, you can e-mail your news stories and photos to youngreporter@beesf.org.

Can't wait for your stories, Boomer Bear

Boomer as Reporter

Dear Boomer,
How are you? I love reading Bear Essential News. I want to become a Young Reporter. I have the form and I just need to send it. How long will it take for you to reply? Do I have specific assignments I need to do? What kind of news should I write about? How will I upload the news? Sorry for the bombardment of questions. Please reply soon!

Thanks for everything, J.J.

How's your summer going, S.N.F.?
My blog actually just works here on the Bear Essential News site. There are several topics for young people to share their thoughts on. I hear you're one of our new Young Reporters--way to go!

Hey Boomer!
I wanted to see how your blog works. Can I subscribe to it in my blog reader?

Dear T.T.,
A lot of people, even adults, get nervous when guests come over or when meeting new faces. Maybe you should talk with your parent and share some of your feelings. Hopefully, you can find some way of getting past your fears so you can enjoy the occasion and even getting to know a guest or two.

Dear Boomer
Some visitors are coming over, and I don't know what to do. I'm nervous!

--T.T.

Dear E.L.,
Thanks so much for your interest in reporting for me! I set up that general rule (that Young Reporters must be in at least third grade) so kids have time to work on their writing skills in school before they start doing interviews and covering stories for Bear. Once in a while I let advanced second graders into the program, so give me a call next year: 1-866-NEWS KID.

See ya, Boomer Bear

Boomer as Reporter

Dear Boomer,
I really want to be a Young Reporter,
but I'm only in first grade. Why can't Young Reporters start in first grade?

Loves to write, E.L.

Hey, K.C.,
I hope you find a nice cool spot. With these terrible Arizona wildfires, obviously obey all fire restrictions and only travel on trails that are open. This is a great chance for you to learn about the great outdoors and wildlife and to take a break from the TV and other electronic gadgets. Have a great time with your family!

See ya soon, Boomer Bear

Happy Boomer

Hey Boomer,
I'm going camping, and I don't know what I will do.

Try not to worry, L.A.
Thousands of great kids like you are heading into middle school, too! Stick with your friends, and try to relax and be yourself as you meet new teachers and students. Summer is a great time to check out books from the library to improve your reading. And everyone should do at least a bit of writing every day!

Have a great summer, Boomer Bear

Dear Boomer,
I'm at my aunt's home and am wondering if you can help me with middle school. What if i get bullied? Also, I don't get good grades--I need your help!

Your Friend, L.A.

Great plan, N.E.!
I've already been to a couple libraries this summer. Of course, I'm here at Bear, working on my newspaper and postin' fun and informative stuff on Boomer's Blog! I'm also having my folks drive me and my buddies to our neighborhood swimming pool, and then we'll see if we can talk them into taking us for ice cream or eegee's!

Have a great (and safe) summer, Boomer

Boomer Bear,
School is over and summer is here. I'm gonna to miss all my friends a lot, but we're thinking of getting to together and going to the library. What do you think you're doing over the summer, Boomer?

Your friend, N.E.

Hey, T.C.!
Sometimes I call it the summertime blues when you're out of school but don't have enough to do. Personally, I love playing sports, drawing, building stuff, writing, reading action/adventure books and hanging with my friends. This is a great time to pursue your interests!

Hang in there, Boomer Bear

It's amazing what happens when you combine effort with talent--I'm proud of you, too!

Way to go, Boomer Bear

Happy Boomer

Guess what, Boomer?
I won this huge contest called the "Symbol of Freedom," and I get to go to Boston for three days and two Suns games in a party suite! Isn't that awesome?!!! I wrote an essay and drew a symbol of freedom (Paul Revere riding on his horse going to warn the people the British are coming) and I won! There were nine other winners from other schools in Maricopa County, but I'm proud of myself!

A lot of kids feel the way you do as the school year ends. It's good that you appreciate your classmates and your most excellent teacher. Growing up means changes, and going to a new school is part of it. Try to stay positive, be yourself and have fun at your new school.

Hi, G.B.!
Gymnastics is a great sport--the flips, the giants, the handstands. You might bring others into the sport by talking to your friends or even by creating your own gymnastics website. And since you're a Young Reporter, why not write about getting started in the sport? I know most gyms have affordable starting rates for beginners.

I'm thinking of washing dogs as a business. I also can sell gourmet dog treats and doggy toys. It can be right next to the dog park, so when dogs get dirty, they can get washed. I'll visit dog parks all around Tucson and will call it Woofin' Wheels. I love dogs, but how do I get started?

Hey, B.H.!
Bullying is a serious problem for a lot of kids. I'm glad you reported it to your teacher. But since things still aren't the way they should be, maybe you should visit your school counselor and explain everything. By law, the school needs to take care of this situation.

Hey Boomer,
I have a problem. Some girls in my class are being really mean. One of them always says hopes and dreams are stupid. And most of them say "Oh my gosh!" every two seconds. They leave me out of all their conversations. I think it's because I'm more of a tomboy than a girly girl. I like sports and "obnoxious" TV shows that boys usually like. They like posing for photos and hanging out together 24/7. One of these girls was my best friend in kindergarten! What should I do?

Your friend, P.C.

Dear AYA (aspiring young artist),
Stick figures can be art, too--you just have to be very creative about it! Seriously, have your folks buy you a sketchbook that'll easily fit into your backpack and some soft art pencils (like 2B or 4B). Take a little time every day to sketch things that catch your eye, that aren't too complicated or hard to draw. Use several short strokes in making the shapes you want. You can also check out drawing books from your school library! You can send your artwork to me for publishing in Bear Essential News: Kids' Stuff, 1037 S. Alvernon Way, Suite 150, Tucson AZ 85711.

Hey, S.M.!
Kids can be really mean sometimes, and most bullies are often the ones who need help. No one has a right to bully you, and schools have to take any reports about bullying seriously (it's the law in Arizona and a lot of states). Don't be afraid to report bullying to your teacher, counselor or principal.

What about H? Poor H, what's she gonna do without this boy? Instead of asking directly, maybe you'd be better off seeing if he'd like to catch a movie with you sometime or give you his cell number, etc. And if your other two amigas are competition for this lucky guy, you might need to hurry!

Good luck, Boomer Bear

Hey Boomer,
I have three friends, V, H and R. V and R likes this boy who I really like, and they know I like him. So I want to know if this boy likes me. Should I ask him?

Need Help, N.H.

Hey, C.H.!
I'm really glad that you are so concerned about the disaster that flattened Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince. There are millions of survivors who need help in this poor area of the world that's just a few hundred miles from the tip of Florida. Just scroll down three of my answers to B.C. on how you and your friends and family can help!

Dear B.C.,
Now's the perfect time for kids and parents to step up! Even though the 7.0-magnitude earthquake lasted only a minute, it killed more than 100,000 people and left millions in desperate need of help. Didja tune in to the "Hope for Haiti Now" telethon? Here are some sites to visit to see how you can help:
UnicefUSA.org
ClintonBushHaitiFund.org
WorldCare.org
RedCross.org
World Care is based here in Arizona, and you can drop off items to the nearest PPEP Charter High School. If you want to help kids, you can collect kids clothing, toothpaste and toothbrushes, wash cloths, baby shampoos, bar soap, diapers, infant formula, powdered milk, blankets and first aid stuff. Hopefully, your school is doing something to help the people of Haiti.

Dear H.F.,
I'd start with a quick conversation with the boy! Ask him what he has going on for the holidays and winter break, if he's seen any of the new movies that are out, etc. Sounds like you need to take that first step and see if you can start building a friendship before a relationship.

It's not easy for kids to get together, even if it's just to hang out. And now that you're homeschooling, not having your friends around is probably amplified. Talk to your folks and see what special arrangements can be made with your e-mail pals. You also might join a team or do scouts to have some quality time with friends!

That's a tough situation, especially with schools facing such big cuts when it comes to the money they need. Being promoted is exciting, but tons of kids worry about starting a new school, making friends and handling all the challenges, even the little ones like remembering how to open your locker! Plus, I'm in a class without my friends. I'm thinking if I don't get my teacher switched to the other really nice teacher, I will move to a different school. What should I do? Should I switch schools?

Your friend, L.K.

Thanks for joining, S.B.!
For some reason, we have not received your biography form so you can be a Young Reporter. You'll need to print the form out again, have your parent sign it and mail it to

Tucson AZ 85711.

You have the WRITE stuff!

Dear Boomer,
I'm trying to become a Young Reporter. Is there there a package I'm going to get in the mail? I have sent my form in. What should I do?

--S.B.

Dear B.B. & C.C.,
There's nothing like a brother or sister when it comes to getting on your nerves. Even at a young age, siblings learn how to push your buttons to get you fightin' mad. If you're tired of all the drama and conflict, find things you can enjoy together and don't be afraid to step away from your brother or sister until you guys cool down.

Keep your cool! Boomer Bear

Hi Boomer!
My brother gets in fights with me a lot. What should I do?

Friends, C.C.

Dear Boomer,
I got in a fight with my sister, and I tried to avoid that by singing her happy birthday and not showing her that I didn't care, but she did not stop being mean. What should I do?

Your friend, B.B.

Whoop, whoop--it's Summer Vacation, Room 28!
I'm more of a Wii type of bear, but a couple of my buddies have those fancy PS3s. I love reading, but haven't gotten around to "Twilight" yet. It'll be one of my summer reads. I love hangin' with my friends the most, and kids are what I'm all about. My favorite flick is "The Bad News Bears." To control my anger, I just think of things that put a smile on my face.

Have a super & safe summer,
Boomer Bear

Boomer in sun glasses

Dear Boomer Bear,
Do you have a PlayStation 3? Have you seen or read "Twilight"? What's your favorite thing to do in your spare time? What do you care about most in the world? What's your favorite movie? What helps you to control your anger?

Thank you,
Room 28

Boomer as Reporter

Dear Boomer Bear,
I'm a 12-year-old kid who'd like to write for Bear Essential News for Kids. I have a great mind, and I love to read and write. Every day I see many amazing things I could write about. If you can help me please let me know.

Sincerely, P.B.

Dear R.A.,
It's almost like someone flipping a light switch—kids around your age change how they act, what they like and even who their friends are. But don't give up hope, your friend may come around someday. Give her some space and focus on your other friendships and other things that are important to you! And if she's too immature to be around you and tu amigo, maybe you should find other classmates to hang with.

Friends always, Boomer Bear

Wonder Boomer

Hey, Boomer!
I need advice...and I mean BIG advice! My friend has changed overnight. She's acting all snobby now. And I've tried talking to her, but she just says, "What are you talking about?" And she doesn't talk to me at all. She's best friends with this other girl, and whenever I hug my boyfriend, they make gagging noises! What kind of friend is that? Seriously Boomer, I need help FAST!

Sincerely, R.A.

Dear P.J.,
I love it when kids like you are so motivated! Anyone in grades 3 through 8 can become a Young Reporter and write for Bear Essential News. Tucson-area reporters also get to be on TV with KVOA-4. Those in the Phoenix Metro area go on FOX10 and My 45. To print out the sign-up forms, click on "Young Reporters" to the left and follow the buttons to "Young Reporter Forms." When you mail them in, I'll send you your official Young Reporters kit so you can start reporting for us.

You've got the "WRITE" stuff!

What's up, Boomer?
I want to become a member of the press. Please help me by accepting me into the Young Reporters Program.

Hey, D.D.!
This fella just doesn't get the message. He either likes you or enjoys making a pest of himself. Maybe you could try sticking close with your friends when he tries to come around. You might even have them politely ask him not to hang around you anymore. And if worst comes to worst, you might need to have your teacher take care of things.

Keep your cool, Boomer Bear

Dear Boomer,
Hi, I'm having some trouble at my school with this boy. He wont leave me alone. What should I do? I've tried everything.

Sincerely, D.D.

Stick with it, R.N.
You're a good and very conscientious student. In fact, for some kids who struggle with a subject, a C can be a big accomplishment! Start with your math teacher for some ideas and even some extra problems to practice. Math isn't easy for me, either. But I know that if I don't give up, I eventually get it! You're far from hopeless--you're just math challenged.

Best of luck, Boomer Bear

Hi Boomer,
I'm having a problem with math, and I just got a C in my math class. I keep thinking that I'm going to pick up my grades in math, but I just can't. I've given up hope.

What should I do? R.N.

Dear M.N. & B.K.,
You're gonna go crazy chasing your tails like this. You both like each other, so obviously it's time to talk and have fun. And B.K.--your art really is as good as she says!

Best of luck, Boomer Bear

Boomer,
Hi! It's M.N. I like this boy B.K.
He's really cute but i.d.k if he likes me back. Oh, he's on this blog, too. Should
I talk to him?

--M.N.

Hey Boomer!
This girl at school likes me. Her name is M.N. She said I was cool and amazing at my art, but she never saw my art. What should I do? :)

Dear Boomer,
Hi! I had a GREAT Spring Break. It was awesome. Most kids sit around eating chips and watching TV. But I did NOT! I hung out with my cousin Michelle at Reid Park. My other little cousin Sally fell in the SMALL stream--thank goodness she didn't fall in the BIG one! We played two days there. We ate Spicy McChickens and hung out for a long time. Man, summer break will be a BLAST!

Sincerely, C.H.

Hey, J.M.,
I'm glad that you're willing to share your problems. Maybe you can start with your teacher. Find a break time or before or after school when you can get some advice and maybe even a few special assignments to help you get caught up. At home, don't hesitate to have you parents help you understand your work. Don't give up!

Hey, Boomer!
My family and I were riding bikes when we saw a snake eating its prey. We could (only) see the animal's foot--it was total "rat"ical!

Oh my, S.N.!
Sounds like you're head over heels for T.R. Since he shows some interest in you, you might want to take a step back and give him a bit more space so you don't scare him off. Take a deep breath and try to be yourself around him.

Best of luck, Boomer Bear

Scared Boomer

Dear Boomer,
I really like this boy named T.R., and I like him more than any boy I have ever met. But sometimes I feel like I scare him because I like him too much. But, then sometimes he acts really sweet and it makes me think that he likes me a lot, too, but he can't just admit it. What should I do ?

Your friend, S.N.

Hey, C.W.!
When someone you love is sick or injured, sometimes it's the simple, everyday things you do that can mean the most. I spoke with Dr. Karen Weihs who heads up Psychosocial Support and PsychoOncology Services at the Arizona Cancer Center. She studies the importance of family support to people who are fighting cancer. Dr. Weihs says that keeping your dad part of your regular life is very important. Spend time with him and share what's going on at school and whatever else you're into. She suggests a lot of hugs and don't be shy about telling him how you think he's terrific. And every now and then, you can ask if you can help with anything. Your dad is lucky to have a great kid like you!

Wishing you & your family the best,
Boomer Bear

E.M.,
Are the kids in your class making fun of you by calling you names? Or have they just come up with a nickname that you don't like? Nicknames that aren't hurtful can actually be fun. But name-calling is usually downright mean. As best as you can, ask your classmates to drop it. And if that doesn't work, you might need to have your teacher step in.

Speak up, Boomer Bear

Dear Boomer,
I have a problem at school. Kids in my class call me another name. What should I do?

--E.M.

Hey, H.M.!
You've taken the first step--admitting you have a crush. The second step is saying hi to this person and getting to know her a bit. Sometimes a kid will have a friend go over and talk him up, but things can get embarassing, especially if they don't go well.

Best of luck, Boomer Bear

A few of my friends have braces and worried about the same thing. But when it came to gettin' them on, it wasn't nearly as bad as they thought. Braces are an important part of growing up, and I think you're fortunate to be fixing things now before they become bigger problems later!

Hi Boomer,
I like Pooh Bear even though I'm in third grade. I like him because he likes to eat honey, and I like honey, too. When Piglet says, "d-d-d-dear," that means he is scared or maybe something bad is going to happen. I like Rabbit because he likes to grow a big garden. The other friends are cool, too.

N.S.,
Friends mean a lot to me, too. When it comes to teasing and stuff, I'd take it according to how it's given. While some teasing is just plain mean, I don't think there's anything wrong with good-hearted teasing as long as it doesn't go too far and hurt the person's feelings. Friends also talk about each other. But a true friend won't talk badly behind your back!

To answer your very good questions:
1. Jungle Book (Balou the Bear is almost as cool as I am!)
2. I like the action of Wii games, but prefer 5. playing sports like football, soccer, basketball, swimming and tennis.
3. Ireland's a beautiful place with rich traditions, a colorful history and many great people.
4. Not sure--you'll have to ask the Little Mermaid.
6. Kids have a ton of great things to say. I want to know a few family traditions that make your holidays special and would like to hear what you think are the biggest challenges facing President-elect Barack Obama as he becomes our next prez.
7. Of course we're buddies--except for the Tooth Fairy (she's a bit too eccentric for us). Actually, we try to get together in June.
8. Pepperoni pizza is my favorite food.

Hope you have a rockin' holiday break.
