Join us for a day of FREE family fun for the entire Tucson community! It’s time for our 4th Annual STEM Festival and it is destined to be our biggest and best festival yet.

Learn how planes fly in this year's aviation experience. See a 40-foot glider up close and learn the basics of flight, then climb into the cockpit of a Cessna to get a pilot’s view of the controls. The AZ Department of Public Safety will be out to show you how their air rescue helicopters are able to get into tight spots where others can’t and Lifeline will give you a tour of their medical evacuation copter. Get up-close and personal with our friendly reptiles and insects or meet a porcupine and skunk at one of the Desert Museum’s free animal shows, then head to the marine booth to see a real shark! Head out to the field to watch rockets and drones hit the sky and take a peek through our solar telescopes and taste a treat cooked by the sun. Witness beautiful glass blowing demonstrations, and participate in some amazing physics feats. Visit our tree ring lab, see 3-D printing in action, cuddle with cockroaches, read with butterflies, or watch a chemistry magic show!

To double the fun this year, we have partnered with the THA Health & Wellness Fair to bring you even more great hands-on experiences! We’ll show you the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics that go into all aspects of health and wellness. Learn what happens in an ambulance to save lives and take a free CPR intro class. Take part in our glow-germ experiment to see how germs are spread, learn the technology behind laser dental work, tour an ambulance, see a real human brain, and visit our wellness center for free health screenings. These are just a few examples of some things you may see this year!

There is something for everyone at this year’s festival so come on out and join us on Sunday, March 18th from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on the THA campus- 3888 E. River Rd., just east of the JCC.
