There is a little bit of history that goes along with this program. It was first created by the Town of Oro Valley’s Parks and Recreation Department in spring of 2013. Steam Pump Ranch is Oro Valley’s only historic property and it gives the public a chance to gain awareness of history and culture. Steam Pump Ranch has undergone tremendous rehabilitation, to allow for the public to learn and have fun. It has grown significantly in the past years and now features live music and crafts for children, an Artisan’s market, historic garden, Farmer’s market, and much more. There is a large group of volunteers that help, as well as partners like the Oro Valley Historical Society, Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance, and the Heirloom Farmer's Market. It not only provides activities for the whole family, but it offers an educational experience as well. The attendance of Second Saturdays has been growing and growing ever since its creation. The Town of Oro Valley would like to welcome even more people to join the festivities.

The fun never ends here in Oro Valley. Second Saturdays is a great opportunity to get out with the whole family and embrace the historical community of Steam Pump Ranch. There is fun for all. Hope to see you there!
