Bear Essential News is a free, literacy award-winning educational newspaper that’s in its 35th year of delivering great news to kids, classrooms and families. Each issue provides timely, well-written and thought-provoking informational text that your classroom can use to help students achieve the new State Common Core Standards.

To help you and your students, Bear Essential Educational Services creates free Common Core-based Work Sheets each month for grades K-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8. The Work Sheets augment the current issue of Bear Essential News.

In the Tucson and Phoenix metropolitan areas, Bear editors give free classroom presentations on effective writing and journalism.
