Cardinal Gives Back with Library Donation

On Nov. 15, Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson attended the ribbon cutting ceremony at Conchos Elementary Library to kickoff “Patrick’s Corner.”

Patrick’s Corner is an area in the library that consists of 1,700 books and furniture donated by the Patrick Peterson Foundation in conjunction with Scholastic Inc. and Papa John’s Pizza.

A Scholastic Book Fair was also held during the celebration and a $7 coupon was donated by the foundation for each student in the school to select a book for their own.

Peterson says that he came to Conchos because he wanted to inform kids about books and encourage reading. Peterson says, “He loved when kids came to pick out books with him. He also said that it was a great opportunity for him and the kids to meet each other.”

When Peterson was asked which type of books he recommends for kids, he said, “It depends on the child’s grade level.” This was Peterson’s first time coming to Conchos. He said that the school is great.

The Patrick Peterson Foundation for Success donates books to school libraries so students have books and a fun place to read them. The mission of the Patrick Peterson Foundation for Success is to provide low-income and inner city youth with opportunities and resources to reach their full potential.
