Chandler Team Claims Science Bowl Win

The Arizona Science Bowl is an exciting STEM competition in Arizona for middle school students. This is a regional event of the National Science Bowl and is sponsored nationwide by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science.

The competition is open to teams from throughout the State of Arizona. Winners of the regional Science Bowl advance to the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C.

This year the regional middle school contest was held at ASU West campus on Feb. 4. The competition consisted of middle school teams from throughout the state. The teams face off in fast-paced question and answer rounds and were tested on a range of science disciplines including biology, chemistry, Earth science, physics, energy, and math. 

BASIS Chandler Middle School won the Arizona Regional Science Bowl competition this year and will represent Arizona at the National Finals in Washington, D.C., in April 2017. This is the first time BASIS Chandler Middle School has won this title! The champions are pictured here with their coach.
